Welcome to our Hospice of
Knox County website.
Hospice is a philosophy, not a place. Our staff believe in that philosophy and live it each day as we work. We believe our patients and families deserve our best, regardless of when or where that aid is needed. The dying process is one of life's big unknowns and we strive to help guide you and your loved ones through that process. We do not profess to know all the answers but, as trained professionals, we know where to go to find answers for you.
We also believe in caring for the bereaved. Our service does not end at death. Helping those who are left to cope with the loss of a loved one is one of our commitments. We will stand beside you and guide you through those "firsts" that you will experience as the days come and go.
If we had one piece of advice, it would be to allow us to assist you as soon as possible. You will know when that time is (each situation is different), but do not put it off. Statistics show patients have longer life spans, with less pain, and more comfort, joy, peace, and dignity, if they choose Hospice when they are functionally able to do so.
