Development Director
Founded in 1983, Hospice of Knox County (HKC) has earned a solid reputation among not-for-profit hospice and palliative care organizations. HKC is CHAP certified and committed to providing specialized end-of-life care to patients of all ages. HKC has an opportunity for a fundraising professional who has a strong and respected presence in the not-for-profit community with demonstrated ability to build relationships. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing leadership and a plan to attract philanthropic dollars to support strategic initiatives and programs. The Development Director will design, implement and manage fundraising programs, coordinate marketing campaigns and special events, and direct the grant solicitation process, including prospect research, initial contacts and packaging proposals.
Position requirements include a bachelor’s degree in related field; 7 years’ experience in development; 3 years supervisory and management experience; significant field experience and demonstrated success with solicitation of major gifts; excellent communications skills; experience with Microsoft Office Suite programs and fundraising software programs.
Located in Mount Vernon, Ohio, HKC is 40 minutes northeast of Columbus, the state’s capital city. Mount Vernon is a quiet community that offers the convenience of a small town with easy access to large cities.
