Mission Statement:
Hospice of Knox County’s mission is to provide compassionate, quality care for persons with a terminal illness. Utilizing a team approach, professional and volunteer staff members serve to enhance quality of life by offering physical, emotional, and spiritual support services to the patients and their loved ones throughout the dying and grieving process.
Goals of Hospice:
Patient Physical Care:
To assist the patient to remain as pain-free, alert, comfortable, and active as possible, by using the most effective and non-invasive techniques available.
Caregiver Assistance:
To share with caregivers the knowledge, skills, and support needed to provide good physical care and adjust to changes as they occur.
Emotional and Spiritual Guidance:
To offer emotional and/or spiritual guidance throughout the dying process and afterwards as the caregivers deal with the grief recovery process.
Community Education:
To provide educational opportunities for caregivers, families, and all residents of Knox County.
