Hospice of Knox County

For Patients, Families and Community:

Since its inception in 1983, Hospice of Knox County has been committed to the ideal that people still matter, especially when they are facing the undeniable reality of end of life.  We provide end-of life care for anyone of any age: the elderly patient with heart disease or Alzheimer’s, the middle-aged patient with cancer or kidney disease, the infant with a congenital disorder, or the survivor who is suffering from the grief and loss of a loved one.

You and/or your family make the choice to join Hospice.  Individuals are eligible for Hospice care if their primary doctor states they have a terminal illness with a life expectancy of six months or less, and choose not to accept any further life-prolonging treatments.

Our Hospice team focuses on you, your dignity, and your comfort.  Using Hospice services is a thoughtful choice to provide comfort and support for you and your caregivers during the dying and grieving process.  Specialized care is provided day or night, in whatever setting you call home.  Hospice helps you face the end of life surrounded, if possible, by your family and in a comfortable setting.

The sooner Hospice is able to begin caring for you, the more time you have to receive the benefits of friends you can count on and professionals you can trust.
